EDWARDSBURG — The Edwardsburg girls soccer team didn’t get the chance to pick up its first win on Wednesday against Vicksburg.

With 15:26 left in the first half, the match was postponed because of stormy weather that was coming towards the area. Initially, the scoreless match was delayed by the officials because of thunder. A few minutes into the delay, the match was postponed. No make-up date has been set.

Before the contest was halted, both teams had four shots on goal. The Eddies, who came into the match with an 0-2 record, got their shots from Anna Roberts, Rachel Boyles, Jennifer Sporleder and Kelly Blumka. None of the shots came inside 20 yards. Three of the shots were stopped by Vicksburg goalie Logan Vanderbos.

Vicksburg had the best scoring chance in the match. After a tripping penalty was called on Edwardsburg, Vicksburg’s Brittney Moldovan attempted a free kick from 20 yards with 27:40 left in the first half. The shot was stopped by Eddies’ goalie Alexis Blake. Blake finished with two saves.

All four corner kicks in the match were attempted by Vicksburg, which came into the Wolverine Conference match with an 0-3-2 record.
