Dowagiac Public Safety Director Tom Atkinson reports that officers of the Dowagiac Police Department responded to a panic alarm at Justus Gage Elementary School.

Officers were dispatched to a panic alarm activation at the school on Tuesday at approximately 2:56 p.m.

Police made contact with school personnel, who placed the school on lock-down until the source of the alarm could be determined. 

Officers learned a student accidently triggered the panic alarm, canceling the lock-down.
