Dowagiac JV split with Shamrocks

BERRIEN SPRINGS — The Dowagiac JV baseball team split a pair of games with host Berrien Springs Friday.

The Chieftains won the opener 5-2, but dropped the nightcap 10-1.

DaQuan Brooks was the winning pitcher as he struck out 11 and allowed just three hits.

Jacob Davis was 2-for-3 with a double. Rolly Lucio and Brooks also had two hits.

Bryce Dodd took the loss in the second game. Davis and Jacob Helmuth also pitched for the Chieftains.

Brandon Hatch went 2-for-3 to lead Dowagiac offensively.
