Melissa Dohm, 60, of Cassopolis, died peacefully early Wednesday morning in Borgess Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Melissa was born March 7, 1953 in Niles, o Kenneth and Bernice (Breece)
Fox. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Robert C. Dohm Nov. 23,
1974, in Cassopolis. Her husband survives.
Melissa is a former Cassopolis Public Schools board member. She is a former
employee of First Commercial Bank in Cassopolis, Southwestern Michigan College and Cass County Register of Deeds.
She was a lifelong member of Cassopolis United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Melissa was a partner with her husband in the family farming operation.
Despite
her own challenges, she continued to be more concerned about others’ needs and
well-being than her own.
Melissa will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by: her husband, Robert Dohm, of Cassopolis; one daughter, Summer (Edgar) Gonzalez of Appleton, Wis.; one son, Matthew (Erin) Dohm of Dowagiac; one granddaughter, Eva
Gonzalez; one sister, Michele (Mark) Rosser of Fairbanks, Alaska; one brother, Michael Fox of Cassopolis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends gather Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis.
They will gather again at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time
of service at 2 with the Rev. Benjamin David Hutchison officiating.
Mrs. Dohm’s remains will be laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis.
The family wishes to thank the many people who helped Mrs. Dohm through this time, including the staff of Borgess Medical Center CSU and The Timbers of Cass County.
