EDWARDSBURG — The Edwardsburg soccer team finally got on the pitch for a match Thursday afternoon.

But it wasn’t the outcome the Eddies were hoping for as visiting St. Joseph scored two goals in each half and ended up with a 4-1 non-conference victory.

Edwardsburg’s Ally McIntee averted the shut out in the final 30 seconds with a goal off an assist from Payton Szlanfucht.

The Eddies (0-1) were outshot by the Bears (3-0) 15-6. Alexis Blake had 11 saves for Edwardsburg.
