ALLENDALE — Maya Brookins finished second in the 200-meter final at the Grand Valley State Laker Challenge recently.

Brookins posted a time of 27.42 for the Niles track team, which also got a top 10 finish from Taylor Glenn, who was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.63).

Elyse Zimmerman and the Vikings’ 4×300-meter relay team of Paige Chaffin, Lashonda Greene, Ashley Love and Ashli Bryant both posted 12th place finishes.

Zimmerman ran 28.73 in the 200-meters, while the relay team posted a time of 3:07.01.

Brookins also placed 14th in the 60-meters with a time of 8.40 and Chaffin was 13th in the 400-meters with a time of 1:04.85. Glenn was 15th in the 60-meters with a time of 11.0.

Graham Hoppstock had the lone top 10 finish for the boys team as he placed 10th in the 800-meters with a time of 2:08.90.

Other top 15 finishes for the boys team game from Gabriel Trujillo in the high jump (5-6) and the 4×600-meter relay team of Nick Knoll, Alexander Brown, Trujillo and Adam Langmeyer. That team posted a time of 6:17.86.
