Niles senior Alec Brown has earned both Big 16 All-West Division and honorable mention Associated Press Class A All-State honors.

Brown, who averaged 20.7 points per game, was a All-West Division selection. He averaged 4.5 rebounds per game and finished with 36 assists and 35 steals.

“Alec has worked tremendously hard to make himself into a college level basketball player,” Niles coach Todd Pawielski said. “He just completed a fine individual season where he averaged 20 points a game. He is a pure shooter who also knows how to score with the basketball. I believe he is going to have a fine career at the next level.”

Brown also excels in the classroom where he is a 3.7 student.

“He is always where he is supposed to be and doing what he is supposed to be doing,” Pawielski said.

Brown also earned all-state status in tennis last fall with his teammate Matthew Miller.

Tate Brawley received honorable mention All-West Division for the Vikings.
