Bobcats’ Cooper signs with Owens Tech

PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Jessica Cooper, a setter from Brandywine High School, recently became the newest member of the 2013-14 Owens Tech Express volleyball freshmen class.

Cooper has had a decorative career. While in high school she was named All-Lakeland Conference four years in a row (2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012), All-Region (2010, where her team finished in the top eight in the state) and MVP her junior and senior years (2011 and 2012).

She also played in the Lakeshore Region High Performance Program from 2008-2011, where her Lakeshore Region Youth Team was the 2011 bronze medal winner of the HP Championships in Tucson, Ariz.

She was also a member of USAV Volleyball from 2002-2013 for the Krush Volleyball Club and she was named 2011 Krush 17 National Team Setter at the USAV National Championships in Atlanta, Ga.

While in high school, Cooper was also a member of the tennis team where she was all-conference (2011 and 2012), region champion No. 1 Doubles (2012) and state finalist first doubles (2012).

She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Cooper joins Ciarra Wirick (setter/middle blocker, Benjamin Logan HS), Stephanie Kipp (outside hitter/middle blocker, Ida (MI) High School), Aricka LaVoy (libero/defensive specialist, Eastwood (OH) HS), Bailey Dangler (setter/outside hitter, Kalida (OH) High School), and Kayla Siefker (outside hitter, Kalida (OH) High School) as members of next year’s freshmen class.
