Dale Ellsworth Wegner II, 62

Died: March 23, 2013

HARRINSONBURG, Va. — Dale Ellsworth Wegner II, 62, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Dale was born on Jan. 18, 1951, in Roswell, N.M.

He is son of Dale and Neta Wegner of Harrisonburg, who survive.

He lived in Dowagiac until 1958. He attended the Augusta Military Academy in Augusta County. He continued his education in Harrisonburg public schools. He also attended Blue Ridge Community College and an Art School in Charlottesville.

Dale moved to Cape Hatteras, N.C., and lived there for 26 years.

He was a professional fisherman and an accomplished chef who worked in many Cape Hatteras restaurants. He also owned and operated Sun Waves Construction and was an avid NASCAR fan.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: his first wife, Sherri Jefferson; and his second wife, Joy Pague, who remain friends to this day.

He is also survived by: his children, Matthew Knicely, Nicholas Wegner and Alexandra Wegner; and very special friends, Fay Baugher and Winnie Meekins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday at the Harrisonburg Chapel of Kyger Funeral Homes, with Pastor Larris Tolson of Cape Hatteras officiating. A time of visitation follows the service.
