Shirley G. Palmer, 94

Shirley G. Palmer, 94, of Dowagiac, began her life on Nov. 6, 1918, in Dowagiac, the daughter of C. Max and Lucille (Williams) Benner.

She was united in marriage to Harry “Hal” Palmer on March 19, 1941, in Dowagiac.

Her loving family includes: her daughter, Mary (Hank) Ziemke of Sister Lakes; grandchildren, Marc (Jennifer) Ziemke of Rockford and Matthew (Libby) Ziemke of Grass Lake; and great-grandchildren, Gabe, Mackenzie Grace and Quentin Ziemke.

Shirley passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Forest Glen Assisted Living.

She is preceded in death by her husband Hal in 1991.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church led by Father Carlton Kelly. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
