Mr. Manuel Lee Milton Moten, 81, beloved father, grandfather, great-

grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2013.

Manuel was born to Arlis and Annie Bell (Welch) Moten on May 23, 1931, in Henderson, Tenn. He moved to Buchanan with his family at an early age. He met and married Earnestine Gilmore-Moten, who preceded in death in 1992. Together, they had seven children and adopted one son. Manuel worked at Gene Wesner’s for 36 years and took an early retirement to attend to his wife during her illness.

Also preceding him in death are his parents, Arlis and Annie Bell Moten; three sisters, Juanita Weston, Addie Faye Hinds, Linda Nell Cotton; and one brother, Ben Callier.

Surviving family include children, Audrey Moten, Mary Moten-Brooks, Wanda Moten, Manuel Moten and Edward Moten, Dellie Darnell Moten, Andre Moten and one special adopted son, Eric Moten; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Johnnie Mae Strack; and one brother, Jocklyn Robinson; special friends, Josie Grooms and Julie Wilkens, who were with him until the end; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Hoven Funeral Home Inc. of Buchanan, with visitation one hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
