Rita A. Kenny, 72, of Montague, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 in Muskegon, Michigan.  She was born July 16, 1940 in Valls Creek, W.V., to Victor and Hilda (Knoll) Herrmann.

She was raised in Niles and married James Kenny on Oct. 28, 1961 in Niles.  She was trained as a registered nurse.  She was a longtime resident of the White Lake area.  Mrs. Kenny was an active parishioner at St James Catholic Church in Montague.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Ann (Al) Kowalski of Muskegon, Brian (Michelle) Kenny of Cedarville, Michigan, Kathleen (Mark) Harrie of Montague, and Matt (Jennifer) Kenny of Grand Haven; She was “Gega” to ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also survived by brothers, Bob (Catherine) Herrmann of Niles, Ed Herrmann of Reed City, and Jim (Nancy) Herrmann of Niles; and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass was held Friday, Feb. 1 at St. James Catholic Church in Montague.  Memorials may be directed to either Harbor Hospice’s Poppen House, 1050 W.
