Mary Rachel Hale, 62, of Daniel Street, Niles, Michigan died on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 unexpectedly at her residence.  She was born Oct. 6, 1950 in Sandusky, Mich., to Everett & Edith (Sutton) Hale.

Mary graduated from Sandusky High School in 1968 and then received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan.  She continued her education by earning a Master Degree in Library Science.  Mary worked in the Dowagiac Public Schools, retiring after 27 years.  She then retired from working in Real Estate, after 10 years of service.

Mary is survived by sisters Marcia (Debbie Pierce) Anderson of Duran, Mich., Martha Hale of Lake Orion, Mich., and Karen Hale of Ann Arbor, brothers Jim Hale and Tim (Sue) Hale, all of Sandusky, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and sister Margaret Hale.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
