The Brandywine boys basketball team appeared to turn the corner with a 64-24 win over the visiting Mustangs of River Valley Tuesday night.

Andrew Duckett paced the Bobcats with 13 points, while teammates Pierce Gleason and Brock Hartline added 12 and 11 points respectively.

The Bobcats used a pressing defense and a near flawless offensive rotation to go on a 22-2 run to open the game and carried that momentum to bury the Mustangs.

Brandywine coach Nathan Knapp was pleased with his team’s performance and thinks that his team has finally started to find itself toward the end of what has been a tumultuous season.

“Our kids were clicking on all cylinders,” Knapp said. “It was a real confidence booster. The practices have been a little bit more intense and they are getting a little chippy, which is what we want. I think we are peaking at the right time.”

Brandywine will return to the hardwood and try to continue to build its confidence when it faces Hartford at home on Saturday at 7 p.m.
