CASSOPOLIS — Lewis Cass Intermediate School District named Dowagiac City Manager Kevin Anderson to its five-member board Wednesday night.
Anderson, city manager since 2008, fills the vacancy created by last month’s resignation of retired county clerk Ann Simmons.
After Supt. Robert Colby administered his oath of office, Anderson was named Berrien Cass School Board Association representative.
President Don Curtis appointed Pat Adams as vice president.

IT management and services

In other February business, the LCISD board awarded a three-year, $48,000 contract effective July 1 to 4 Micros, the consulting business Dowagiac Union Schools Technology Director Randy Gross operates on the side.
Colby said Gross is in the midst of a trial one-year contract.
“We’ve been very happy with this arrangement. Things have gone very well,” Colby said. “The level of service is even better than I’d hoped for, so we asked him to propose a three-year agreement. This is far more efficient and cost-effective than what we’ve been doing prior.”
Anderson abstained because Gross is a First Ward member of Dowagiac City Council.
