Preston MTA second vice president

Pokagon Township Supervisor Linda Preston was elected second vice president of the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) at its 60th annual Educational Conference and Expo Jan. 22-25 at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center.

Preston was elected clerk of Pokagon Township in 1984 and served in that position until 2004.

In 2004, she was elected to her current position of supervisor.

In 2005, she was elected to the MTA Board of Directors, where she represents township officials in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties as MTA District 22 director.

In 2010, she was appointed to the MTA Executive Board.

In addition to her involvement in township government, Preston has been involved with the Southwest Michigan Regional Planning Commission, Michigan Association of Regions, key leader of the M-40 Hustlers 4-H Club, Cass County Rental Association and Silver Creek United Methodist Church.
