Brandywine…22

In the night’s first game, the Bobcat boys (1-14) were plagued by mental mistakes, general sloppiness and fits of utter confusion en route to a 43-22 loss against the Bees. The defeat handed Brandywine its 14th consecutive loss on the season.

Pierce Gleason led the Bobcats with eight points while Brian Kline added five points. Austin Knapp and Zachary Schmidt each had three points for Brandywine.

Bridgman’s Cooper Mojsiejenko led all scorers with 12 points. Jackson Kamp netted nine points and Matt Hendricks contributed eight in the winning effort.

The Bobcats look to end hope to end their season-long skid tonight in Three Oaks against River Valley.

In the second game of the evening, the No. 2-ranked Bobcats made quick work of the Lady Bees racing out to a 19-0 lead and riding that momentum to a 61-20 victory.

The win gave the Lady Bobcats their 16th straight victory and sewed up a fourth consecutive Lakeland Conference title.

“It says a lot about their (seniors) work ethic and dedication, the girls’ basketball program hadn’t won a conference championship in 20 years, our seniors have now won four,” Bobcat head coach Josh Hood said. “We want to build it into a tradition around here.”

Brandywine forward Brooke Smith led all scorers with 13 points with teammates Makenna Hartline and Mackenzie Shelton each adding nine points for the winning cause. Tammy Lee and Victoria Knight chipped in with eight points for the Bobcats.

Alyssa Krynicky and Lexy Deckert each scored eight points for the Lady Bees.

The Lady Bobcats will look to remain unbeaten on the hardwood when they meet the Berrien Springs Shamrocks Tuesday at home.
