Big third quarter lifts New Buffalo past Niles

NEW BUFFALO – Visiting Niles was outscored 35-24 over the final three quarters as New Buffalo posted a 40-28 non-conference girls basketball victory Monday night.

The Vikings (0-13) trailed New Buffalo (11-2) 5-4 after one quarter of play.

The Bison led 19-16 at halftime, but outscored Niles 13-5 in the pivotal third quarter to open up a 32-21 advantage.

Jade Madison had 14 points for New Buffalo.

Libby Moody scored seven points for the Vikings, who also got six points from Elyse Zimmerman.
