PLAINWELL — For the 14th time in the last 15 years and for the 21st time overall, the Allegan Tigers are the kings of Wolverine Conference wrestling.

The Tigers held off Otsego 263-216 to claim the league title at Plainwell High School Saturday.

Vicksburg was third, Berrien Springs fourth and Edwardsburg fifth. Dowagiac finished 12th.

Dowagiac’s Tristan Howard pinned Edwardsburg’s Seth Barnett in 2:49 to finish third at 285 pounds. The Chieftains’ Matt Lyle was fourth after losing by decision to Edwardsburg’s Danny Rousseau 6-2 at 140 pounds.

Edwardsburg’s Mike Higley defeated Holden Dunklee of Otsego 8-6 to take third at 103 pounds. The Eddies’ Hacob Herman was third at 160 following his 8-4 win over Three Rivers’ Mike Brown and Keathley Marks placed fourth. Marks did not wrestling in the consolation finals due to injury.

Dustin Vires of Edwardsburg also placed fourth at 125 pounds.
