Genre: Comedy, horror

Marlon Wayans is back as the writer and lead actor in a parody of the “Paranormal Activity” series, which is conveniently called, “A Haunted House.”

Just by the trailer, the audience knows what they are getting into, a stupid, but somewhat funny, movie about spoofing other blockbuster films. Of course, just like in many spoof films, it›s not meant to be a “good” movie, but a movie where you shut your brain and just laugh.

The film has a decent storyline that follows through and doesn’t get off track. Bravo to that. Nothing else really stands out in the movie.

The first 10 or so minutes made the crowd burst in laughter, but, after that, it was sadly predictable.

It was full of crude humor that young children would love, but it’s an adult film with little jokes. Many of the humorous parts could be compared to “The Three Stooges,” just plain weird and confusing.

Many of the shots were long going for one joke, which failed terribly. One, including Cedric the Entertainer who plays Father Williams, spends about five minutes in the hallway doing nothing but talking nonsense and just confusing you.

When you go into a Wayne movie, everyone expects it to be hilarious and full of fresh new material, but there was no original material. But, some of the humor was good enough to get people to laugh out loud.

“A Haunted House” gets a huge applaud for showing what normal people would actually do in a scary situation. Unlike most horror films where they go into the house, this movie shows someone smart leaving the house.

They showcase an extremely true film on the subject of a normal incident, when people are scared.

Personally, I was waiting for another Wayans brother to come into the film, but it was all Marlon, which took away some of the greatness.

Overall, it was not awful, it was just boring and ridiculous. There is an audience for movies like this and, if you are interested in these sort of events, this is the perfect movie.

If you want a movie that makes you laugh and makes you feel like your money was well spent, do not even think about it.
