With the postponement of Tuesday’s games due to weather, it has been a short week for the Dowagiac sports teams.

The Chieftain boys and girls basketball teams are back on the hardwood and back in Wolverine Conference West Division action Friday night.

Dowagiac will host Coloma in a girl-boy doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m. with the girls game. The division-leading boys team will host the Comets at approximately 7:15 p.m.

The Chieftains bring a 6-0 West Division record into the contest and a 9-1 overall mark.

Dowagiac this week was ranked No. 9 in the Mick McCabe’s Super 10 poll in the Detroit Free Press. The Associated Press has the Chieftains ranked No. 4.

The Dowagiac wrestling, team, which was swept by Berrien Springs and Plainwell at the Otsego Quad Wednesday night (see related story this page), will be back in action Saturday as it competes with some of the area’s best at the Greater Berrien County Meet at St. Joseph High School.

Wrestling begins at 9:30 a.m.
