Police are saying alcohol may have been a factor in an early-morning rollover crash Wednesday in Howard Township.

Marty Lee Rincon, 37, of Stevensville, was heading east on M-60 when his vehicle left the roadway, hit the center divider and rolled several times near Lake Shore Drive in Niles around 5:15 a.m., according to a report by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

Rincon was transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Howard Township Fire and Michigan State Police.

Rincon did not appear to be wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and alcohol may have been a factor, according to the report. The traffic crash is under investigation.
