Teenager shot Monday in Niles

A teenage boy was shot in the stomach Monday evening, but is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Niles Police Department.

Police found Jonathan Cook, 19, of Detroit, with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen at a residence in the 200 block of North Sixth St. in Niles at around 7:23 p.m.

Cook was treated at the scene and transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind., where he is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.
