CASSOPOLIS — A young Marcellus man lost control of his car on icy roads and struck a utility pole Monday night.

Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. reports his office responded to a personal injury accident on Hemlock Lake Road in Marcellus Township at approximately 9:25 p.m. Jan. 14.

Jeremiah Hicks, 18, of Marcellus, was traveling south on Hemlock Lake Road.

Hicks was transported to Bronson LakeView Hospital in Paw Paw by Marcellus ambulance for what deputies said appeared to be minor injuries.

Seat belts were worn. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by Marcellus Fire and Ambulance Service.
