Saturday,  Jan. 12
Emmylou Harris
7:30 p.m.
Sauder Concert Hall/
Goshen College
1700 S. Main St., Goshen
(574) 535-7566

Emmylou Harris is a 12-time Grammy winner, which alone is plenty of reason to catch this show. Her latest release, “Old Yellow Moon,” is a 12-song duet album with country music legend Rodney Crowell who I worked with on Dolly Parton’s record. Even if you aren’t a country fan, Emmylou should be well worth it.

Direct from Russia! Pedigreed ballet artistry with its organizational roots in Perestroika and upper-ranking ballet artists from Kiev, Riga and Warsaw. In short, this is as real as it gets and as close as it gets. Get off the couch and see just how beautiful and amazing the human form can be in all its grace from masters.

Tuesday,  Jan. 15:
‘Touching Ground: Finding
the American South’
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
20 x 24 Polaroids by
Jennifer Trausch
The Snite Museum Of Art
100 Moose Krause Circle,
Notre Dame
(574) 631-5466

Photography aficionados won’t want to miss this exhibit. Trausch’s photography is of interest and the film format is an endangered species, only five of the large format 20 x 24 cameras made by Polaroid still exist.  I had no idea Polaroid did large-format instants and the results are unique and noteworthy.

Wednesday, Jan. 16
MOVIE: “A Late Quartet”
8:30 p.m.
Riviera Theatre
50 N. Main St., Three
Rivers
(269) 278-8068

I love arty films. When I lived in New York, I used to love to catch things at the Film Forum in the Village. Living in L.A. in the heart of the film industry, I could see most anything.
I’m thrilled to see the Riviera bringing this new film with Philip Seymour-Hoffman, Christopher Walken, and Catherine Keener to the area.
