Raymond L. Fry Sr.

Died: Jan. 5, 2013

Raymond L. Fry Sr., 65, of Cassopolis, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013.

Ray was born on Oct. 7, 1947, to the late Ernest Fry Sr. and Mary Jane (Black) Heath in Dowagiac.

Ray was a jack of all trades; he loved helping out other people and was always using his carpentry and electrical skills to build things for others.

Ray was a member of Masonic Peninsular Lodge 10 in Dowagiac, past member of the Shriners, member of the Knights Templar and a member of the Royal Arch.

Ray was an “old school” kind of guy who would always take someone at their word and the shake of a hand.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ernest Fry Jr. and Richard Fry.

Ray is survived by: his wife, of 27 years, Sherida; children, Christine (Kenny) Kiggins of Muncie, Ind., Raymond (Tina) Fry Jr. of White Pigeon, Tami (Scot) Decker of Cassopolis, Gregory “Chad” (Katlyn) Fry of Niles, Tina (Bryan) Roush of Niles, Duane Coons of Cassopolis and Terri (John Sievert) Coons of Cassopolis; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mary (John) Hamilton of Dowagiac, Marlane (Jim) Stanek of Dowagiac and Betty (Richmond) Harman of Palm City, Fla.

A memorial service to honor Ray’s life will be held on Friday at 11a.m. at United Presbyterian Church, 209 E. State St., Cassopolis.

Memorial donations may be made in Ray’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Niles.
