Fire & Ice Festival heats up Goshen

Downtown Goshen, Ind., celebrates the 6th annual Fire and Ice Festival taking place in downtown Goshen Friday and Saturday with icy-hot excitement including an eight-foot Fire & Ice Tower bonfire.
The two-day festival includes single, double, and triple-block sculpting, fire dancers, a chili competition with downtown restaurants and judged ice competitions with cash prizes.

Friday
• Ice Sculpture Carving: 5 – to 9 p.m.
Members of the Michiana Ice Carvers Association (MICA) will carve 300-pound blocks of ice in front of downtown stores.

• Fire Dancers – Pyrotation Nation : 5 to 8 p.m.
Check out all sorts of fire-spinning style throughout the downtown area.
The dancers come together at 7 p.m. for a group performance on East Washington Street.

• Fire and Ice Tower: 7 to 9 p.m.
Downtown Goshen will light up the night with a 16-block ice tower surrounding a giant bonfire. At 7 p.m., the fire is lighted and should burn for several hours as the ice slowly melts.
• Free Marshmallow Roasting: 5 to 9 p.m.
Warm up with a tasty, melty, gooey treat around the warming stations on East Washington Street. The marshmallows are free but you’ll have to toast them.
