Nina M. Luke, 90, of Melbourne Beach, Fla., passed away at her home on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.

She was a retired rural mail carrier moving to Florida in 1959 from Columbia City, Ind., a member of the 1st Baptist Church of the South Beaches and a 20-year volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels.

Survivors include her son, William A. Luke, of Level Plains, Ala.; a daughter, Dawn M. Pearson of Palm Bay, Fla.; stepchildren, George Luke, of Chicago, Ill., Julianne Unruh of Charlotte, N.C., Larry Chabitch, of Monroe, N.C., Leslie Chabitch, of Pawpaw, James Chabitch of Decatur, and Ann Marie Flory, of Decatur; local grandchildren, Andrea, Gregg, Stacy, Danielle Whitaker and James Thompson; and 16 other grandchildren out of state and two local great-grandchildren and many others.

Calling hours were Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. with funeral services on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m. in the Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Chapel.  Donations in her memory may be sent to the 1st Baptist Church of the South Beaches.
