Host Bangor tops Cassopolis in holiday hoops

BANGOR – A slow start doomed visiting Cassopolis in the opening round of the Bangor Holiday Tournament.

The Rangers trailed 18-9 after one quarter and 27-16 at halftime of the non-conference girls basketball game as the Vikings went on to post a 52-32 win over Cassopolis Thursday.

Jocelyn Transou had nine points to lead the Rangers, who also got seven points from Jade Gatson.

Monique Johnson of Bangor led all scorers with 19 points. Kristian Moore added 13.

Cassopolis will play in the consolation game today (Friday) against Comstock at 5:30 p.m.
