Military personnel, police officers, teachers and other local heroes are being offered a big rebate through a program called Homes For Heroes, which is being offered for the first time in Niles.

Homes for Heroes will celebrate its official launch with a ribbon cutting at the Niles City Fire Station, at 10 a.m. Thursday. The public is invited to join in honoring our Niles heroes and this important commitment.

“It’s a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a launch just to let people know it is here in Niles,” said Jackie Murdock of Integrity Real Estate Professionals.

With Homes for Heroes, local realtors, mortgage bankers and title officers have partnered up to help make home buying and selling more affordable for military personnel, police officers, firefighters, health care providers, teachers and clergy.

“We’ve offered the Homes for Heroes program in the South Bend, Ind., and wanted to team up with local professionals who shared our commitment to rewarding heroes for their public service,” said Jonathon McKinnies, of Hallmark Mortgage. “These brave men and women will enjoy the benefits of substantially reduced lender fees, real estate commissions, escrow fees and other related services.”

Jackie Murdock of Integrity Real Estate Professionals, will join Hallmark Mortgage and Chicago Title Company to launch the Homes for Heroes program. The agents at Integrity Real Estate Professionals have committed to rebating local heroes 25 percent of their commission at close of escrow.

“It could be thousands of dollars,” Murdock said. “For a lot of folks, this rebate could make the difference in their ability to buy or sell a home.”
