Armed robbers hit Niles gas stations

The Niles City Police Department is investigating five armed robberies involving two Admiral gas stations in Niles.

The gas stations are located at 640 Chicago Rd. and 1701 Oak St.

All of the suspects were wearing heavy clothing, hoods, and gloves. Their faces were covered with an unknown cloth.

The age and race of the individuals responsible for these crimes vary and is unknown at this time by investigators.

The Niles City Police Department is asking that anyone with information about any of the robberies contact the Niles Police Dept. Detective Bureau at 269-683-0404 or can make an anonymous tip by texting 274637 keyword tipnilespd or submit their anonymous tip on line at www.tipsoft.com.

Below are descriptions of each incident:

• Oct. 15 at Chicago Road Admiral at 4 a.m. — A lone gunman walks into the store, pointing a gun at the store clerk and demands money from the register. The suspect then flees the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency.

• Oct. 20 at Chicago Road Admiral at 11 p.m. — Two gunmen walk into the store pointing guns at the store clerk and demand money.  The suspects then flee on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency.

• Dec. 8 at Chicago Road Admiral at 8:03 p.m. — A lone gunman walks into the store pointing a gun at the store clerk and demands money. The suspect flees on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency.

• Dec. 10 at at 17th and Oak Street Admiral at 12:14 a.m. — A lone gunman walks into the store pointing a gun at the store clerk and demands money. The suspect flees on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency.

• Dec. 11 at Chicago Road Admiral at 0332 hours. — A lone gunman walks into the store and points a gun at the store clerk and demands money. The suspect flees on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency.
