BLOOMINGDALE — The Brandywine boys basketball team, playing on back-to-back nights to kick off the season, ran out of gas in its 53-47 loss to host Bloomingdale Wednesday night.

The Bobcats (1-1) led 15-10 after one quarter of play and 28-23 at halftime.

The Cardinals outscored Brandywine 16-6 in the third quarter and went on to hand the Bobcats their first loss.

“We go in spurts right now,” Brandywine coach Nathan Knapp said. “We need to figure it out. We need to get used to the offense. Once we do that we will be fine.”
