CASSOPOLIS — Alice M. (Kinnander) Burns, 87, of Cassopolis, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, in Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital.

She was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Bristol, Ind., to Gustaf and Sadie (Bailey)

Kinnander.

She married Robert Joseph Burns on April 30, 1950, in Bristol, Ind. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2007.

Alice graduated from Bristol High School in 1944. She worked at Miles Laboratory

until she married. She became a farmer’s wife and homemaker, caring for her family.

She was involved in her church, teaching Sunday school and attending Mission Circle meetings. She found joy in being with her family.

Alice will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by: one son and

daughter-in-law, Paul and Heather Burns of Cassopolis; three grandchildren, Erin

(Matthew) Ransom of Goshen, Ind., Eric (Alicia) Burns of Cassopolis and Evan Burns of Mt. Pleasant; five great-grandchildren, Owen Ransom, Emma Ransom, Landon Burns, Logan Burns and Lauren Burns.

Family and friends will gather from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Mason Township Baptist Church, 20109 Mason St., Cassopolis, with the Rev. Matthew Ransom officiating.

Mrs. Burns will be laid to rest beside her late husband in Adamsville Cemetery.

Her family prefers memorial contributions to Mason Township Baptist Church, 20109 Mason St., Cassopolis, MI 49031.
