Eddies hold on to win season opener

Visiting South Haven made it interesting, but could not spoil Edwardsburg’s season and Wolverine Conference debut Friday night.

After trailing 22-10 at halftime, the Rams outscored the Eddies 22-14 in the final 16 minutes. Edwardsburg was able to hold on for a 36-32 victory.

The Eddies (1-0, 1-0 West Division) led 12-6 after one quarter and 22-14 by halftime.

South Haven (0-2, 0-1 West Division) outscored Edwardsburg 14-6 in the third quarter to cut the lead to 28-24 heading into the final eight minutes of the contest.

Both teams scored eight points in the fourth quarter.

Alexis Blake led the Eddies with 11 points, while Katelyn Rogers added nine and Olivia Hack seven.

South Haven’s Meagan Spears led all scorers with 18 points. Bobbie Goodwin finished with eight.
