Bobcats roll in season opener

CENTREVILLE — Mackenzie Shelton, Victoria Knight and Tammy Lee all scored in double digits as Brandywine kicked off its season with an easy 58-14 win over White Piegon in the opening game of the Centreville Tip-off Classic.

Shelton scored 11 points to lead all scorers, while Knight and Lee both scored 10 points.

The Bobcats roared out to a 39-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in advancing to today’s championship game against Howardsville Christian, which defeated Centreville 39-34.

Mikayla Kemp added eight points and Rachel Ort six for the Bobcats, 1-0.

Rachel Brock and Bethany Hagner both scored six points to lead White Pigeon.
