Police beefed up for ‘Black Friday’

ST. JOSEPH — With Thanksgiving signaling the “Black Friday” start of holiday shopping, Niles Charter Township contracted Thursday with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office for additional police protection.

A resolution adopted by the Berrien County Board of Commissioners lets the sheriff provide special police protection on and around the premises of Walmart, 2107 S. 11th St., Niles, on Nov. 22-23 for $2,554.
