To the editor:

My father, Charles Waldron, and I thank Diane Curry, Marty Oleson, the staff at Southside, and the students at Southside School for the fantastic Veterans’ Day celebrations. My father and I have attended for several years. Each year Southside builds on previous years, and it shows. More and more veterans attend each year because the sincerity of the staff and students at Southside warms the heart of each veteran.

Niles should be proud that the school district remembers veterans each November. I know that my dad, who fought on Saipan, Tinian, Guam, and Iwo Jima, leaves Southside each year with a smile on his face.

Thank you, Southside. Well done!
