CASSOPOLIS — Kim M. Torres, family nurse practitioner, is joining the medical staff at Cassopolis Family Clinic.

Torres joins doctors Lori Checkley, John Foster, Stephen Miller, Neil See, Wendy Steinkraus, NP, and Rebecca Kelln, PA-C.

Torres received her bachelor’s and master’s of science in nursing from Indiana University. She completed her nurse practitioner training at Valparaiso University in May 2009 and has been working in Cass County since that time.

“We were planning to add staff when we move into our new facility in 2014,” said Mary Middleton, executive director. “If you know our present facility, we’re bursting at the seams. One of the really important things we consider in recruiting, besides qualifications and compatibility, is ties to the community. So we couldn’t let her slip by. We’re going to be creative and use every inch of space, every available time slot to serve more patients.”

“I am very happy to continue my career by serving people in my community,” said Torres. “It’s very fulfilling to give back.”

She lives in the Cassopolis area with Tom, her fiancé. They enjoy spending time with Maggie, their Rottweiler, and riding Harley motorcycles.
