SMC hosts fall band concert

Southwestern Michigan College hosts its fall band concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the theater of the Dale A. Lyons Building on the Dowagiac campus.

SMC's fall band concert takes place Friday at 7:30 in the Dale A. Lyons Building theater.

The concert, “Enchanted Spaces,” will feature the SMC Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Flute Choir and Brass Band.

The Symphonic Band will perform “Enchanted Spaces” by Samuel Hazo; “Sheltering Sky” by John Mackey; and the march “Emblem of Unity” by J.J. Richards. The Jazz Ensemble will perform the old standard “Secret Love,” as well as the
Gordon Goodwin charts “I Remember,” and “That’s How We Roll.”

The Brass Band will join in with “Landscape and Journey” by Alan Fernie.

Ticket prices are $7 for general admission, $5 for students and senior citizens and the concert is free to those 18 years old and under.
