The Brandywine tennis team picked up a key win as it continues to tune up for Thursday’s Division 4 Regional Tournament.

The Bobcats defeated former Lakeland Conference foe Berrien Springs 5-3 at Plym Park Tuesday.

Brandywine swept the singles flights en route to the win.

“This was a big win for us tonight,” Brandywine coach David Sidenbender said. “it was our first win against Berrien Springs, who is always a power.  My singles played awesome today.

“Michael Robbins was especially impressive in his win, a straight set win against a seeded regional player after not picking up a racket since Thursday because of rain and cross country. And with the match hanging in the balance, our last two flights three singles and two doubles each came through with thrilling victories. Tanner (Bourdon) in a third set and Alex (Brooks) and Jordan (Hunt) in a second set tie-breaker.  I couldn’t be happier.”
