Bernadette C. “Bernie” Linhart, 93, of Shavehead Lake, Cass County, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, in Greenleaf Living Center in Elkhart, Ind.

She was born Dec. 23, 1918, in Chicago to Joseph and Elizabeth (Stava) Tintera.  She married Ernest A. “Ernie” Linhart on May 17, 1941, in Cicero, Ill. They were longtime residents of Westchester, Ill., until 1999. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2009. She was also preceded by one sister, Dorothy Poro.

Bernie will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Beth (Thad) Cizma of Westmont, Ill.; two sons, Thomas E. Linhart of New Brooklyn, Ill., John J. (Rosemarie) Linhart of Chicago; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Tom and Todd Baryl, Katie, Julie, Matthew, Eric and Chris Linhart; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Vent of Watervliet, Elizabeth T. “Betty” O’Connor of Dundee, Ill.; and one sister-in-law, Marcy Hopps.

Family and friends will gather Friday, Oct. 12, from 3 until 8 p.m. central standard time in Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester, Ill. Funeral services will begin Friday, Oct. 13, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in Divine Infant Catholic Church, 1601 Newcastle St., Westchester, Illinois.  Bernie’s remains will be laid to rest beside those of her late husband, Ernie, in Saint Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, Ill.
