Leslie Kay Marie Rhodes, 42, of Niles, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at her home unexpectedly, but of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 17, 1970, in Buchanan to Dwight Leslie and Katharine (Arnold) Grual II, and graduated from River Valley High School.

She lived in this area all of her life, and had previously been employed at FAPCO in Buchanan and Walmart in Niles.

Leslie attended Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle in Buchanan. She enjoyed crochet, making many afghan blankets and acrylic painting.

On June 17, 1995, at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle, she married Jeff Rhodes, who survives. Also surviving are their sons, Jacob Rhodes and Marcus Rhodes, both of Niles; Leslie’s mother, Katharine Zaricor, of Trenton, Tenn.; and brothers and sisters, David Lee Zaricor of Milan, Tenn., Dwight Leslie Graul III of Berrien Springs, Reida Kaye Bates of Trenton, Donna Kaye Roll of Statesville, N.C.; a half-brother, Leslie Alan Frobert of Benton Harbor; and several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are Jeff’s father, Charles “Chuck” Rhodes of Niles, and sister, Christine (and Anthony) Konkey, who helped provide her care.

The family and relatives of Leslie Rhodes are gathering privately at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles to honor her life.
