The fall production of the SMC theater department will be “The Importance of Being Earnest.” The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 20 at 7:30 p.m., and at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 in the theater of the Dale A. Lyons Building on the Dowagiac campus. The play is directed by Paul Mow.

Tickets are $7 general admission, $5 students and senior citizens, and free to those 18 and under. Tickets can be purchased from the Box Office at (800) 456-8675 ext. 1280.

“The Importance of Being Earnest” is the witty Oscar Wilde’s greatest comedy subtitled, “A Trivial Play for Serious People.”

This is a comic romp of mistaken identities set in Victorian England that satirizes snobbery, pretense, and courtship.  Hilarity ensues in this production scene after scene after scene.
