Comella gives ‘Updates’

The Cass County Council on Aging is hosting “Parkinson’s Updates” with Dr. Cynthia Comella from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the COA Lowe Center at M-60 and Decatur Road in Cassopolis.

Comella is a Parkinson’s researcher at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She is scheduled to discuss the latest in Parkinson’s research and treatment. She will also take time to answer questions from the audience. Comella has been a longtime friend of the COA, traveling from Chicago about once a year. She works in research and directly with patients and is dedicated to ensuring people have the most accurate information to make the best choices for their health.

 

Presidents series offered at Front Street Crossing

The Institute for Learning in Retirement offers a class on all the United States presidents at Front Street Crossing, 227 S. Front St., in Dowagiac.

“The Life and Times of our U.S. Presidents” will run for four weeks beginning from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. This includes college-level instruction without grades, tests or prerequisites and costs $10 per person.

The class will be taught by ILR faculty member Ray Sikkenga, a retired American history teacher from Battle Creek.
