Edwardsburg remains unbeaten in West Division

COLOMA – Five different players scored as Edwardsburg football team remained in the thick of the Wolverine Conference West Division race with a 46-17 victory over host Coloma Friday.

The Eddies (5-1 overall) improved to 3-0 in the West Division and tied with Dowagiac for first place. The two teams will meet in two weeks.

A 22-point second quarter broke open the close contest and gave Edwardsburg a 30-3 halftime advantage. The Eddies outscored the Comets 16-14 in the second half.

Caleb Neff ran for 108 yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown, while Jack Bywaters added 102 yards on 10 carries as a score as Edwardsburg finished the night with 344 yards rushing and 437 yards in total offense.

Coloma had 372 yards of total offense, including 210 yards through the air.

Also scoring for the Eddies were Jason Schimpa, Garrett Bronkema and Tyler Briggs. Bronkema and Briggs both caught touchdown passes from Schimpa.
