PORTAGE — For the second time in a week, the Niles volleyball team defeated host Portage Northern.

The Vikings, who won the Bronze Division of the Huskies’ tournament on Saturday. Wednesday night, Niles swept Portage Northern 3-0.

“The Niles varsity volleyball team came out intense tonight and took down Portage Northern in three games with complete control and focus,” Niles coach Jenny Nate said. “We reevaluated our team goals this week and my players came out swinging and ready to go to work on increasing and maintaining their level of play every match.

“We controlled the tempo the entire night and it showed. The girls played together and were in sync even when I shifted a few players in and out. This was a total team win and my girls are fired up to keep it rolling.”

The Vikings take on Buchanan Wednesday in a non-league match.
