Buchanan’s Clinton Orr scored three of his four touchdowns in the first half as Albion built a 21-7 lead, and Wes Dolen (East Lansing) picked off a couple of passes in the fourth quarter to preserve it as the Britons completed the non-league portion of the schedule with a 35-16 victory over Central (Iowa) College at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.

Orr finished the day with 208 all-purpose yards, with 90 of those coming on a kickoff return to open the contest.

In addition to the kickoff return, Orr scored on runs of 5 and 25 yards in the first half.

Central dominated the first 20 minutes of the second half, cutting the margin to 21-16 on a 32-yard field goal by Kevin Sheldon and Josh Osborn’s 43-yard run. Osborn finished the day with 118 rushing yards.

Dolen’s first interception set Albion in position for a 24-yard touchdown strike from Dominic Bona (Pinckney) to Brian Spencer (East Lansing).

Orr completed the scoring with a 40-yard run.

Bona, making his first collegiate start at quarterback, was 9-of-15 for 160 yards. Zach Brewer (Adrian/Madison) hauled in three passes for 60 yards.
