KALAMAZOO — Visiting Niles was blanked by Kalamazoo Central in a Big 16 Conference non-divisional match Tuesday, 3-0.

The Maroon Giants got a pair of goals, one in each half, from Jonathan Caruso.

Caruso scored in the 35th minute and Mason Preussel added a goal three minutes later as Kalamazoo Central led 2-0 at halftime.

Caruso completed the scoring with his second half goal.

“It was probably the best match we have played this year,” Niles coach Dave Jacobs said. “We’re coming around.”

Niles was defeated by the Kalamazoo Central JV 6-1 Tuesday.

Dylan Fillwock had the only goal for the Vikings.
