Evelyn Carol Zeigler, 66, of Niles, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, in Niles, with her family at her side.

She was born Dec. 15, 1945, in Benton Harbor to the late Jess Willard and Haroldene Marilyn (Harner) Alexander.

In 2002, Carol married Mike Zeigler at a ceremony in Niles.

Carol graduated from Niles High School Class of 1964. She retired from Lakeland Healthcare in 2007, where she worked as a phlebotomist. She had also previously worked for Old Kent Bank and Clark Equipment Company in Buchanan.

Carol enjoyed going to garage sales, collecting roosters and attending family sporting events. She also loved taking the golf cart for a spin, visiting with friends.

Carol is survived by her husband, Mike Zeigler, of Niles; a son Scott (Christie Austin) Erwin, of Niles; a daughter, Marilyn (Jason) Duva,l of Niles; a stepdaughter, Tammie Duncan, of Niles; five grandchildren, Alexander, Emily and Kade Erwin and Brady and Bethany Duval; three step-grandchildren, Kim Chamberlin, Tyler and Travis Duncan; a step-great-grandson, Cameron Woodward; two sisters, Kay (John) Erickson, of Brighton, and Cathy (Don) Glandorf, of Jackson; and a brother, Harold “Dickie” Alexander, of Nashville, Tenn.

A memorial service celebrating Carol’s life will be held Monday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with visitation beginning two hours prior.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s memory to Hospice at Home, Inc. 4025 Health Park Lane, St Joseph, MI 49085.
