Orval Whitaker, 68

Orval David Whitaker, 68, of Niles, passed away on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at Silverbrook Manor Nursing Home with his family by his side.

Orval was born on March 9, 1944, in Brown County, Ind., to the late George and Eusia (Mink) Whitaker.

Orval proudly served his county for 13 months during the Korean War. He worked for Simplicity Pattern for 28 years.

He married the love of his life, Connie Ann (Frantz) Whitaker, at a ceremony in Niles.

Orval is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Floyd Whitaker and Les Whitaker; two sisters, Mary June Davis and Gladith Lowe; niece Robin Whitaker; two nephews, Jeff Whitaker and Wesley Boller; and a great-nephew, Adam Stodghill.

He is survived by his wife; a sister, Shirley Boller, of Russellville, Ind.; 20 nieces; 14 nephews; 32 great-nieces; 38 great-nephews; 5 great-great-nieces; and 6 great-great-nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel.
